Meet The Founder

The idea for Joywaves came to me during a light bulb moment on a beach in Italy. It is my husband’s home country and a place that has become a big part of our family story.

Inspired by that feeling of freedom, travel and days spent by the ocean, I wanted to create something that captured those little waves of joy we experience throughout life. Those moments when you feel completely present, free and genuinely stoked to be alive.

Born in Margaret River and shaped by the wild beauty of the Indian Ocean, Joywaves brings together my love of the ocean, creativity, travel and slower living. Our family life is woven with Italian influence, from cooking and sharing long meals to appreciating thoughtfully made pieces and finding beauty in everyday life.

We grow some of our own food, live close to the ocean and try to follow the natural rhythm of the seasons.Surfing reflects life in so many ways. The conditions are always changing. Some days everything flows, while others test you. You fall, get back up, wait patiently and learn to appreciate the good waves when they come.Life moves in waves and seasons too, and not every season is easy. Joy isn’t about pretending that everything is perfect. It’s found in the little moments in between: the feeling after a good surf, watching a sunset, your children laughing, travelling somewhere new, sharing a meal with friends or having a good laugh.

That euphoric, stoked on life feeling is the heart of Joywaves.
